How to Style Your Coffee Table

When it comes to your coffee table, having a blend of both pretty and practical are what come to mind to me.  Other than a dining room table, your coffee table will be where most people gather around. Here are a few different ways I’ve found work best for a coffee table and/or ottoman.

Option 1: Books, a vase, and coasters

Layered books, short vase with faux or real foliage, a candle, and a stack of coasters. This combination is very clean, classic, and simple.

Option 2: Vases

A tall vase or pot and a similar smaller vase of pot paired side by side. Would look totally good just by themselves or with real or faux foliage in the taller one. Tic Tac Toe or Chess game, incense diffuser and a book stand with an open book placed on top.

Option 3: A filled bowl

A large decorative low bowl with moss balls or faux figs, coasters, a few magazines, and a couple fun shaped figurines that compliment one another.

The key to good table styling is spacing items out just enough to cover the surface but also leaving some wiggle room for food and drinks to be placed around the table when using. Layering and groupings or two or three items that are different heights creates interest to the design, and topping it off with something fresh from either a lit candle or flowers brings everything together and adds to the homey feel we all want in our house.
