Tips For Layering

One of the easiest ways to accomplish a custom look to any surface in your home is by layering. Layering adds an element of intention to every coffee table, vignette, bench, or shelf. This simple detail brings your eye through the design and tells a story. I highly encourage you to layer your accessories. This totally helps each corner of your home feel finished and well-designed. I am confident you can achieve this using what you already own in your home. Here are a handful of ways you can do this with items you probably already own.

Stacked books, mini clock or decorative bowl/vase

Tray, tiny pedestal, with a candle on top

Cutting board, cookbook stand with cookbook

Tray, decorative bowl/vase, moss balls or faux lemons

Stacked books or magazines, vase with fresh flower or greenery, funky figurine or sculpture

These combinations would pair well on your coffee table, floating shelf, hutch or entry table, kitchen countertop, etc. Layering works great when grouping similar items and also works great when pairing practical items together.
