Last-Minute Christmas Decor
I’m sure this statement rings true for everyone out there when I say Christmas is the best time of the year! Here at the Farwell house, we LOVE Christmas! The meaning it holds, chopping down the tree of our choice, hanging stockings, and lighting that evergreen candle. One of the best ways to get in the holiday spirit is by decorating your surroundings. As much as I love buying new accessories, there are still a handful of ways you can dress up your home quickly! Here are a few ways I’ve found to bring Christmas to live in our home.
Fresh cedar or fir
Cutting sprigs or branches from your backyard and dropping in either a bud vase or larger vase and placing around the house not only adds that amazing smell in your home but also dresses up any end table, bathroom, or coffee table. Adding the cut branches to your fireplace mantle, or dining room table as a centerpiece is a quick and easy way to add the feel of Christmas for any type of Holiday party.
Scented pine cones
You know those cinnamon pine cones in the red bag you see in the grocery stores? Those!! These are perfect for any decorative ("Christmasy" or "non christmasy") low and wide bowl. Good for placing on coffee tables, entry tables, or on a large tray. I would avoid using anything with a smell on the dining table because the smell interferes with the food on the table, not a good mix. However, would be totally fine to use when you are not hosting or eating at the table.
Wreaths and garlands
These are not just for your front door. They are a fun way to bring Christmas to every corner of your home. Faux or real wreaths /garland over your kitchen hood or staircase are just one way to use them. Another way to style would either be over windows, mantle, or along a shelf or bar area. You could hang with festive ribbon and hang over any window and it would instantly spruce that space up. Large wreaths over your garage doors, or medium sized wreaths above any bed or even over a mirror in your entry is another simple a cute way to dress these spaces up.
I hope you find these easy tools attainable for you to tackle on your own. I am certain that, any or all of these items would go far in your Holiday decorating this year. If you decide to use any of these tips, share with us! We’d love to see how you put your own twist on these fun and easy ideas.
